Adoption Search and Review

Our adoption specialist is here to help you search for your birth parents or birth children, provided your adoption was through Children's Home Society of Missouri. Our staff is committed to helping you understand the process and finding the answers you are looking for.

We provide this service for adoptees age 18 or above, adoptive parents, birth parents and biological family members of the adoptee.

It is estimated that about 6 million Americans are adopted. So it is not surprising that a large amount of people who are touched by adoption decide to actively seek information about birthparents or children. They search for many different reasons-medical history, a desire to know more about their background, or a major life event.

Our trained adoption specialist uses a variety of search methods and will talk with you in detail so that you know what to expect. It is often necessary to open the adoption file for one reason or another. Some would like to receive information contained in the file while others would like to have information placed into the file.

Please be assured that our services are strictly confidential for everyone involved. Services can include providing updated information for the file, exchanges of information (only if you choose to waive your privacy,) requests for direct, identifying information, photographs, or gifts.
